DHAULAGIRI Trekking

Trekking in Dhaulagiri which was first discovered in 1808 provides massive mountains range of Dhaulagiri consisting of fifteen 7000 meter peaks is magnificent. Trekking around the giant Himalayan Peak Dhaulagiri is one of the most challenging treks. The trek goes through big challenging mountain passes, crossing over French pass (5360 meter) and Thapa Pass (5200 meter).

Geographically, it is a land of dramatic contrast. Trekking in this region means an exploration of the wild. This region is considered to be one of the most remote places of the kingdom of Nepal. Abundance of Himalayan peaks, hidden valleys, high passes and sweeping vistas. This Trans-Himalayan region is quite, peaceful and full of curiosity.

Dhaulagiri is almost unique in the world in terms of its rise above local terrain where it rises to 7000m over the Kali Gandaki gorge(deepest in the world) to the south east in about 30 km of aerial distance. In fact, Kali Gandaki is dramatic as two eight thousands, Annapurna I & Dhaulagiri both stand near the river facing each other over a deep valley. Around Dhaulagiri is a challenging trek around the Dhaulagiri massif (8,167m/26,745ft), the seventh highest mountain in the world, involves snow and glacier walking. This is the perfect trip those who want a more intense experience of the mountains. You will be trekking deep into the Dhaulagiri Himal to the Italian Base Camp and Dhaulagiri north base camp, offering a wonderful view of gigantic north face of Dhaulagiri. The trekking in this area is relatively strenuous and needs some high altitude trekking experiences.
