Ecotourism in Nepal and real village tours

Ecotourism is one activity that can help to protect rural villages from some of the various threats that face it now. Tourism can provide an alternative income to the people of rural villages of Nepal to help reduce poverty and create economic incentives to local people. Ecotourism provides an alternative source of income, which reduces poverty and pressures on natural resources. With the globalization of the village tourism, many countries, including Nepal, have been promoting beautiful villages as destinations for village tourism. Throughout the world, village tourism has been identified as an important tool to alleviate poverty in rural areas. In Nepal too many villages has been identified as destination for village tourism. Visitors visiting the area not only consume the locally grown products but also buy local handicrafts as souvenirs. This provides villagers with alternative source of income apart from the traditional farming, which will in turn help alleviate poverty thereby lifting the living standards of the locals. 


Spreading the Benefits from Ecotourism

Currently high Himalayan trekking and expedition team has been developed in Nepal real cultural villages' eco trek to ensure that as many families as possible can benefit directly from it. In each village, villagers have been trained as guides, cooks, home stay and guesthouse providers, boatmen, traditional massage therapists, and elephant drivers in order to provide services to visitors. Village tourism service providers are each part of an association so that work and economic benefits from tourism are shared equally. Typically, each family in a village is allowed to provide only one service to ensure that as many families as possible are involved. High Himalayan treks and expedition provides a local guide to ensure that local people benefit and those visitors receive quality information and a local perspective about the area.
